I teach social work at university, and also I am the director of Clubhouse, Besor Ravine.

Before I became to be a professor, I worked a mental hospital as a social worker for 6 years. I felt the limitation of medical model, and I wrote a doctor dissertation about "recovery".

I became to be interested in peer support, so I established the Clubhouse in 2008. Our members are people in recovery and they live their own lives. They are a person, not an illness as Pat. Deegan emphasizes.

I think Personal Medicine is very powerful. I'd like to share Personal Medicine to our members and support to discover their Personal Medicine.

저는 한동대학교 상담심리사회복지학부에서 사회복지전공(세부전공: 정신건강)을 가르치고 있습니다.
또한 정신재활시설인 클럽하우스 브솔시냇가의 시설장으로 일하고 있으며 정신장애를 경험하고 있는 사람들이 한 "사람"으로 수용되어지고 그 분들이 사람답게 살 수 있는 사회를 만드는 것을 꿈꾸고 있습니다.

정신장애를 경험하고 있는 당사자가 다른 정신장애인을 돕는 동료지원에 대해 관심을 많이 갖고 있으며 한국사회에서 동료지원가가 활발하게 활동할 수 있도록 준비하고 있습니다.
Personal Medicine은 매우 정신장애인 당사자 관점에서 자신의 삶을 주도적으로 살아낼 수 있도록 돕는 매우 유용한 도구라고 생각합니다.
한 분, 한 분의 정신장애인이 가지고 있는 내적 탄력성, 잠재력, 힘을 발견하고 자신의 삶의 주체가 되어 살아갈 수 있도록 함께 회복의 길을 걸어가기를 희망합니다.
