Hello I am Gloria C Thomas Allen, Community Health Worker for the Department of Mental Health Los Angeles County for 4 years. I came in through first being a Peer volunteer. I have worked in the Human services field off and on since the age of 19. I enjoy learning ways to assist people when needed. I am leaning so much with this training now realizing that I am doing things which can be Personal Medicine is refreshing. One thing I enjoy doing is working in the community. At volunteering at food banks, assisting with community events, doing something outside my situation or my feeling such as if I feel depressed or restless makes me feel better and like I am accomplishing something positive changes my feelings.
