Jordan Smelley is a person in long-term recovery from Intellectual and Developmental Differences (clinical term Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) with Co-occurring Mental Health challenges. What long-term recovery means and looks like for Jordan is having opportunities to present and educate the community on topics around supporting individuals with IDD, being able to advocate for himself and find the resources he needs, and being able to maintain employment as a Mental Health Peer Specialist and be involved in IDD Peer Support projects in Texas so more individuals with IDD can get Peer Support Services if they want. Jordan became a CPMC to expand his resources to use to support others. |
