As someone who scaffolded my social work practice development on my lived experiences both as a carer, then of my own, mental health and AOD challenges, as well as those of Australian Defence Force service, business ownership, and fatherhood, my transition into an identified lived experience position was retrospectively logical. I pride myself on creating opportunities for people to find their connection, strong voice, and sense of personal leadership within their own lives and within the context of their wider world.
