In 2014 I reached a point in my life where it was time to work on my recovery for mental health challenges, addiction, and grief. I had to overcome traumatic events that took place in my life and I had to learn how to feel like a functioning human being. I had to learn coping skills to get through intrusive thoughts, and I learned how to use personal medicine as a way to reduce intrusive thoughts. As I worked on my recovery journey I learned how to be happy and how my experience could benefit others. I found a job that allowed me to be creative while helping others, and it gave me a sense of peace and purpose I was searching for. I also found ways to take care of myself that made me feel good and achieve the freedom I always wanted.
